This is what awaits you at Bodegas Luzon, located in the heart of Jumilla, a land rich in wine and natural beauty. Today, in our post, we propose a complete plan for an unforgettable weekend of wine tourism visiting our winery.
Day 1: Immersion in the Wine World
Morning: Visit to Bodegas Luzón
Start your adventure on Saturday morning with a guided visit to Bodegas Luzón, where we offer two types of experiences for you to choose the one that best suits your interests:
Luzón Experience
Discover the winemaking processes from our Monastrell vineyards to the main rooms of the winery. You will visit the Altos de Luzón room, the Barrel Room and the most special corners, the Sanctuary and the Cathedral. The tour ends with a tasting of three wines and a cold appetizer.
Luzón Premium Experience
Enjoy everything the Luzón Experience has to offer with a more personalized and exclusive touch. In addition, you will taste one of our upcoming vintages directly from the barrel and taste a wine from our special reserve. The experience culminates with a tasting-pairing of our range of Icon wines, including Altos de Luzón, Por Tí, Alma de Luzón and Mina de Oro, prepared by a renowned restaurant in Jumilla.
Whichever experience you choose, the passion and knowledge of our guides will immerse you in the rich winemaking history of the region and make you feel part of our wine family.
Afternoon: Walk through the historic center of Jumilla
In the afternoon, explore the historic center of Jumilla. Visit the Church of Santiago, a listed monument, and Jumilla Castle, a 15th-century fortress that offers breathtaking panoramic views of the region. Stroll through the cobblestone streets and discover the essence of this charming town.
Night: Lodging in Patio de Luces Apartments
Stay at Apartamentos Patio de Luces, located in the heart of Jumilla. These apartments offer a perfect combination of modernity and tradition, with all the necessary amenities, such as a full kitchen, free Wi-Fi and spacious living areas.
Their central location allows you to easily explore the historic center of Jumilla and enjoy the local gastronomy in the nearby bars and restaurants. After a day of wine tourism and exploration, relaxing at Patio de Luces will be the perfect end to an unforgettable day.
Day 2: Nature and Gastronomy
Morning: Hiking Route in the Sierra del Carche Regional Park
On Sunday morning, venture out on a hiking route through the Sierra del Carche Regional Park. This park offers several routes that vary in difficulty and duration, all of them with spectacular scenery. It is an excellent opportunity to connect with nature and enjoy breathtaking views.
Afternoon: Visit to the Wine Museum and Food Market
After lunch, visit the Jumilla Wine Museum. This museum offers a detailed look at the history and culture of wine in the region, with interactive exhibits and historical collections. Next, head to the Mercado de Abastos, where you can buy local products such as cheeses, cured meats and, of course, wine.
Don’t forget the gastronomy…
The gastronomy of Jumilla is a reflection of the cultural and natural richness of the region, characterized by its intense and authentic flavors. Among the most emblematic dishes is gazpacho jumillano, a delicious mixture of game meat, mushrooms and snails, served on an unleavened bread cake. Another typical dish is rice with rabbit and snails, a delicacy that combines quality rice with the freshness of local ingredients. Roast lamb, prepared with traditional techniques, stands out for its tenderness and incomparable flavor.
Local products also play a fundamental role in Jumilla’s cuisine. Murcia cheese in wine, with its distinctive reddish color, is a delicacy that cannot be missed. Artisanal sausages, such as black pudding and chorizo, reflect the charcuterie tradition of the area. In addition, locally produced olives and olive oil, along with fresh fruits and vegetables from the Murcian orchard, enrich each dish, offering a complete and authentic gastronomic experience. Jumilla’s gastronomy is, without a doubt, a gift for the senses that perfectly complements the region’s winemaking tradition.
And remember that whatever you try, do not forget to accompany the Jumillano delicacies with one of the exceptional wines from Bodegas Luzón.
Farewell and closing
A full weekend with Bodegas Luzón is an immersion into the culture and flavor of Jumilla. From tasting exceptional wines to exploring landscapes and historical monuments, every moment is designed to offer you a unique and memorable experience.
We look forward to sharing our passion for wine and the beauty of our land!
