It has just renewed the ISO 14001 Environmental Certification in its most demanding version and it is one of the few Spanish wineries which boast the Wineries for Climate Protection (WfCP)

Bodegas Luzón has set out as environmental objectives this year to reduce electricity and water consumption by 10 per cent, as well as waste production and the use of cardboard.

In order to achieve its goals it is implementing specific actions, which include reducing the weight of the bottle of its new Colección range products, incorporating technologies which enable energy consumption reduction, replacing lighting for LED and placing meters to control the use of resources in the key production processes, among other measures.

The bid for an efficient use of resources and its commitment to the conservation of the environment and natural patrimony has allowed it to renew its ISO 14001 Environmental Certification in its most demanding version from 2015.  As well as this achievement the winery is one of the few Spanish wineries which has the Wineries for Climate Protection certificate (WfCP), which defines it as  an environmentally sustainable company thanks to the implementation of a demanding continuous improvement and sustainability policy.

Obtaining this certificate last year, developed by the Spanish Wine Federation (FEV), makes Bodegas Luzón’s commitment to sustainability and the fight against climate change evident.  The organization meets, moreover, the criteria of environmental sustainability demanded by the main international distributors, like Walmart or Sainsburys.

Together with its environment protection plan is the commitment of the winery’s workers to address environmental risks and opportunities resulting from the life cycle of its product: Wine. In addition, it incorporates the best technologies available to promote the maximum conservation of the surroundings where the company operates.

Its commitment to sustainability is completed with initiatives such as calculating the carbon footprint generated by its business activity, 100% consumption of energy from renewable energy sources, a progressive increase in production and preparation of ecological wine and the execution of R&D&I projects linked to energy efficiency.
