Silver medal and 91 points for one of our most distinctive wines.

A couple of months before its release, international critics have already been able to taste the new vintage of one of our most emblematic wines and one that is undoubtedly giving more to talk about (for the better) since the change of image and blend that we made in the 2017 vintage. Altos de Luzón 2019.

A highly anticipated reference by both the public and critics of which The Drink Business has already made mention, one of the most internationally renowned publications, awarding it the silver medal and 91+ points in its spring tasting.

According to the jury, this is a wine with ruby tones, lots of fresh ripe black currant fruit, youthful, intense. On the palate, black currant, intense, touch of white pepper, chewy ripe tannin, dry finish, with a touch of cedar, good balance, with some freshness, almost a touch of cherry. Not too heavy, moderate use of oak. Good structure.

It is worth mentioning that this is a wine that is not yet available for sale, but that undoubtedly augurs success after the hard work of the entire winery team and, no doubt, the specialized press reviews that we have begun to receive. A top quality-price wine that has also been created with absolute respect for the environment, using techniques that respect the biosphere and is suitable for vegan consumption.

ALTOS DE LUZÓN 2019, A VINTAGE WITH A LOT TO SAY

100% Monastrell, a clear representative of the essence of the PDO Jumilla, brings together in a bottle all the characteristics of this grape.

The grapes are harvested by hand in 10/15 kg boxes; transported to the winery with great care and placed in cold storage for 24 hours at 6ºC. Afterwards, the grapes are selected on the table, choosing the best grapes prior to vatting and vinification in steel tanks. Fermentation takes place over a period of 8 to 10 days, not exceeding a temperature of 24/26ºC. The wine remains in contact with the skins during maceration for a period of 10 to 15 days, after which it is aged for 12 months in American and French oak barrels.

A wine that allows a complete pairing with grilled vegetables, pasta, legumes or blue cheeses and cured cheeses, smoked meats and salmon. Complete on the palate, thanks to its characteristics of a young and well-structured wine.
