New vintages Por Tí and Alma de Luzón
For some time now it has been a constant that many of our wines, especially the most iconic ones from our winery, are sold out before the new vintages reach the market, so the months of waiting are long for many of those who have our wines as their favourite wines from Jumilla.
For all of them, we have good news: The new vintages of Por Tí and Alma de Luzón are already available, since this week Por Tí 2020 is already available in our Online Shop and from August 28th, Alma de Luzón 2020. Both wines will be soon also in your favourite wine shops.
As we have already mentioned, both wines belong to the 2020 vintage, a vintage characterised by a very rainy winter with mild temperatures, which continued with a spring of very intense rainfall and ended with a very dry and hot summer. This meant that the vineyard remained very robust, with lots of vegetation, good leaf colour and vigorous shoots, resulting in a marked increase in production.
Another fact to note about the vintage is that in 2020 the harvest was 10 days earlier than in previous years, which allowed us to carry out a much more staggered and orderly harvest thanks to the healthiness of the grapes and the stability of the weather. These conditions allowed us to carry out a harvest that we consider to be of great quality, obtaining wines with medium layers and colours, but showing great fruit expression.
Por Tí 2020
After an ageing of 18 months in new French and American oak barrels, the result is an elegant and succulent wine, of a beautiful opaque cherry red colour with a garnet rim and a fruity nose, where aromas of ripe red fruit, spices, cocoa and liquorice stand out.
Its excellent structure on the palate is striking, jammy, tasty and its ripe and sweet tannins, characteristics that make this wine a perfect match for red meats, big game, sirloin steak, foie, goose, roast lamb, Iberian sausages, various stews, blue cheese, cured sheep and goat cheeses.
You can buy it in our Online Shop through this link.
Alma de Luzón 2020
In the elaboration of this coupage composed of 80% Monastrell, from our ‘La Traviesa’ plot and 20% Syrah, from our ‘El Pocico’ plot, no selected yeasts are used and a minimum of human intervention is used.
For its elaboration we carry out a manual harvest, with a careful selection of clusters, prior to fermentation in 500 litre barrels, afterwards, the wine is transferred to new French and American oak barrels, where it undergoes malolactic fermentation and is aged for 22 months.
The result is a red wine with personality, modern and with great ageing potential, with a deep cherry colour and expressive and intense aromas, where notes of black fruits, minerals and spices, such as black pepper, stand out. On the palate it is succulent, with a balanced freshness, great character and typicity, which goes well with red meats, big game, Iberian sausages, various stews and strong cheeses such as blue cheeses, or cured sheep and goat cheeses.
Don’t wait any longer and get your hands on the new vintages of Por Tí 2020 and Alma de Luzón 2020, if you don’t want to miss them before they are sold out again.
