One more year, between the best wines of Jumilla.
Last Friday, April 14th, during a gala dinner held at the Salones Media Luna in Jumilla, the winners of the 29th Jumilla Wine Quality Awards were announced.
In this most recent edition, more than thirty awards were given out, including gold medals, silver medals and three special mentions (Special Mention to the red wine elaborated without contact with wood, vintages 2021 and 2022, Special Mention to the red wine elaborated in contact with wood, vintages 2021 and 2022 and Special Mention to the red wine elaborated in contact with wood, vintages 2021 and 2022), 2021 and 2022 vintages and Special Mention for the best rated Organic Wine of the Contest), among the 157 samples tasted by the 18 expert tasters from all over Spain, one of them for our Luzón Colección Roble 2022, which won the Special Mention Monastrell with Wood, 2022 and 2021 vintages. A mention that makes us especially excited because after four years of winning the Mention for the Best Young Red Wine of Jumilla, this year we have achieved that our Luzón Colección Monastrell Roble 2022 has been recognized as the best wine with wood of the 2021-2022 vintages. A development that demonstrates the degree of maturity and fullness that our wines have reached in recent years.

An expressive and intense Monastrell, which maintains its fruity touch despite its 3 months in oak barrels (3 months).
In the glass it presents a cherry red color with a violet rim, with a nose dominated by aromas of fresh red fruit, sweet spices, toasted and coffee notes, and a fleshy, smooth and fresh palate, with ripe and sweet tannins.
Silver Medal for LUZÓN COLECCIÓN MONASTRELL ECOLÓGICO 2022
A young, single varietal red wine, from different vineyards where altitude and soil type mark its character.
With an intense purple color, this powerful Monastrell is elegant on the nose, with aromas reminiscent of red fruits such as cherries, strawberries and black plums, with a spicy finish. Juicy and fresh on the palate, it presents an enveloping body with a very pleasant sensation, a long and vibrant finish.
Gold Medal for FINCA LUZÓN ROBLE 2022
Red wine made from Monastrell, which after spending 3 months in French and American oak barrels, results in a cherry red wine with violet trim, whose nose is dominated by aromas of fresh red fruit, sweet spices, toasted and coffee notes and which presents a fleshy, smooth and fresh wine in the mouth, with ripe and sweet tannins.
Gold Medal for FINCA LUZÓN JOVEN 2022
A garnet-colored Monastrell with an abundant violet rim. On the nose, the intensity of fruit aromas, red fruit and ripe fruit stand out. Powerful and sweet. In the mouth it is very fruity and fresh, smooth, glyceric and fleshy. Ripe, round tannins, balanced acidity, delicate and tasty sensations.
