The Regulatory Council of the Protected Designation of Origin of Jumilla awarded three wines of Bodegas Luzón. Altos de Luzón was awarded with a silver medal and Luzón Colección Monastrell with a gold medal and the prestigious Honorable Mention, which proclaimed it as the best Monastrell wine of the D.O.P. Jumilla within its category.

The ceremony, celebrated in the rooms of Pio XII of the town of Jumilla, was the culmination of an intense week in which recognized experts valued very positively the quality of the wines presented to the contest by 30 of the cellars of the D.O.P. Jumilla, 12 of which were awarded.

Among the winners, Bodegas Luzón, received two medals and an important special mention for two of its wines in the following categories:

  • Red wines made without wood contact, vintages 2017 and 2018.

Luzón Colección Monastrell 2018, gold medal and the pretigious Honorable Mention, which certificates our Colección Monastrell 2018 as the best Monastrell of Jumilla for the youth wines of that vintage.

  • Red wines made with wood contact, vintages 2016 and previous.

Altos de Luzón 2015, the silver medal of the contest, which certificates it as an incredible vintage for an incredible wine.

These two awards are a high recognition for Bodegas Luzón, which since its origins has continuously search excellence in the production of its wines, using the most sophisticated and advanced systems, without forgetting the weight of the wine tradition of the D.O.P. Jumilla and, of course, the winery’s own history.

Telecable Televisión retransmitted live the entire ceremony, which was commented by the presenter Juanma Piñero. Silvano García Abellán, president of the Regulatory Council, made a speech that spoke about the effort to strengthen the visibility of the wines that are part of this historical Denomination of Origin.

One more year, we thank the organization of the contest and all of those who attended for making us enjoy a magnificent act and again, for the recognition that these two medals represent.
